Last year saw the defending champ put together one of the most impressive seasons we've seen in the history of our young league, 12-2 and the title belt.  He wasn't shy about the title either bantering all year long, running his mouth like his lips don't fit.  He wasn't any different this offseason getting more outspoken in emails and trying to stall the league draft for days.  Why?  Because he's the defending league champion and some owners are quietly talking behind his back about how it's quickly gone to his head.  Others outside the league have also noticed the change and have started calling him Lane Kifflin.  Regardless of how others feel about him, he is the champion until January this year and has a chance to repeat.. maybe.

So, rumor has it online sports betting used to be really sweet; I heard pinnaclesports was an excellent, reputable site until the US cracked down on this alleged integrity issue.  An article I read points to a 1999 study that over $380 billion is illegally wagered on betting.  Now, I am not an advocate of; well, if society does it.. then it must be right.  Because usually, I think people are pretty stupid, especially society.  However, this seems harmless to me because the money can be used in so many ways.  Think of all the tax money and money, in general, the state and the US can collect, insane.  Anyway, it appears sports betting is only allowed in several states where it was legal before a certain law was passed.

Poor Novak Djokovic.  Last year’s Australian Open winner and this year’s punchline, Djokovic is the Serbian equivalent to Rodney Dangerfield.  He gets no pogled.

Djokovic ended his Aussie Open run against American Andy Roddick four sets into their quarterfinal match Tuesday.  Despite winning the first set, the 105 degree heat on the court got to Djokovic and he decided to call it quits.  Yes, I said 105 degree heat.  In Melbourne.  Even Crocodile Dundee would have been asking for Gatorade and Gold Bond.

Reyns Gems

My apologies to those who missed my posts over the past week, as I was in the process of installing internet in my new apartment.

And now to the question everybody is asking – can the Nuggets survive without Melo?

He got lucky only having to play either Nadal or Djokivic - not one in the semis and one in the finals.  He's going to be a year older next year and he's shown real signes of being past his prime

After my blog post about how Federer was the greatest tennis player of all time and was easily going to break Sampars' record 14 Grand Slam singles victories, I'm starting to think that I might have been a little premature in my assesment.
