     Josh Scobee is developing into a solid kicker in the league, delivering strong kicks but would like to improve his consistency.  Athletic punter Adam Podlesh, will be competing with Steve Weatherford to punt for the team.

Everyone needs a little optimism, so here it is:

1. Special teams. Kicker Josh Scobee has been accurate (14 out of 16 field goals) and Brian Witherspoon has been solid (though not explosive) returning kicks.

Kicker Josh Scobee is as good as it gets in the NFL it seems, and the rest of the special teams have been adequate. 

None of these characteristics are exactly the Super Bowl-winning formula, but with a few breaks and injury avoidances, the Jags could ride into the late season playing in stride the way they did a year ago. And everyone knows, after making the playoffs, anything can happen. Now, talking playoffs at 3-3 is a bit of a stretch (Jim Mora's "Playoffs?! rampage comes to mind)," but things certainly look more hopeful than they did a couple weeks ago after the home loss to Pittsburgh.

e got drilled by one of the worst and several more games went down to the last play, Jacksonville's Josh Scobee experienced a little deja vu as he nailed a 51-yarder (the last time the Jags beat the Colts it was a 53-yarder that won it) to help the Jags knock off the Peyton Manning and the Colts at home. Both teams surprisingly stand at 1-2 behind the unexpected division leader, the Tennessee Titans, at 3-0.
