Big 12

keep off the field.

The Opponents:

The Longhorns have an easy pre-season schedule leading into Big 12 play. The game that always looms large is that one in Dallas on October 17 against bitter rival Oklahoma. Both teams should be able to sort out their question marks by then and come into the game at their best. We all know that QB Sam Bradford is great, as is TE Gresham, but the Sooners will have to answer some questions with their offensive line after losing 4 of their 5 starters from last season. They also will have to find some wide receivers to compliment speedy WR Ryan Broyles. They do return a tandem of talented running backs, but most have been fighting injuries this off-season. I do think that Bradford's numbers will take a significant hit, but he will still be right in the thick of the Heisman trophy contention. OU's defense is stacked, especially at their defensive line and linebacker positions. After the Sooners, the Longhorns have to travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma on October 31, to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. This game may be every bit as tough as the game against OU. Oklahoma St. is a sure fire top 10 team next season, and they return the deadly trio of QB Zac Robinson, WR Dez Bryant, and RB Kendall Hunter. I believe Hunter and Bryant are the best at their positions in the

The ACC and Big East are looking strong, while down years in the SEC, Big 12, and PAC 10 are creating a jumble of mediocre looking teams with no true leaders.

The ACC and Big East will probably get 8 teams a piece into the tournament. Usual juggernauts like the SEC and

Despite a loss to them earlier in the year on a neutral field, Oklahoma gains a trip to the Big 12 Championship Game as well as a probable spot in the BCS Championship Game over the rival Texas Longhorns. The BCS did exactly what it was supposed to do. It chose the better team. Problem is, thats not exactly fair.

Well, Oklahoma and Texas made it to the game this year with their respective top 5 rankings intact.  That is rare, as the teams usually choke the week leading up to it in "trap games".  This year's game should be a good matchup of two great passers in Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy.  Both are in the Heisman hunt and should finish the season with some great numbers.  The point of interest for me is not the stellar play of both QBs, but the lack of commentary on these two teams.  The media constantly speaks of what USC needs to do to get back to the title game or which SEC team will be there to face them.  I have news for the stupid media: Get over your East/West coast bias!  Oklahoma is probably going to end up playing BYU in the title game, in fact, I hope it is Boise St. vs. BYU so all the haters of anything non-SEC can shut up.  True, the SEC is a great conference, but they all have to play each other.  There should not be a 1 loss team from the SEC in the title game over an undefeated (even if they are from the mountain west).  Now, on to the game:
