The Bulls, playing a Thursday game last week, lost to Pitt. I'll say that again: the Bulls lost to Pitt. The score, a heartbreaking 26-21, had to have left a bad taste in the mouths of the players and the coaches, because it certainly didn't sit well with the fans.
Here's my criticism of the Bulls: last year we were the Cinderella story of the NCAA. We went from being completely unknown, just a young team with a dream, to being ranked #2 in the nation at one point. We ended up fudging it up towards the end of the season last year, and all the bandwagoners who joined the Green & Gold cause quickly died off. And I think the spirit of the players died off, too. It seems like once we are losing, we have a hard time picking ourselves up, brushing ourselves off, and continuing to kick butt. We're like an insecure teenager, who just gives up when things get hard. And that's just how the fans are, too. Sure it's tough to see your team lose, but you gotta have some loyalty. Look at Miami Dolphins' fans: they stick with it, and, heck, this year, miraculously, the Dolphins are kind of good.
Don't let the L's get you down, Bulls players and fans alike. The next game is October 18 at home versus Syracuse. It's homecoming, and instead of watching from home, my family and I will cheer on my Alma Mater at Raymond James.
P.S. I will make sure to update in a more timely fashion, as my dad has made it painfully aware that I post too late.
