Why Are The Bucks Still #12? posted on 10/13/2008
After Saturday's lackluster win over Purdue it should be obvious. They can't seem to get in the end zone. Not a single offensive touchdown scored against the Boilermakers. After the first quarter fans were treated to three field goals, two in the first half, one in the second. At home, against Purdue, everyone was expecting to see a bit more from Tyrelle Pryor than 97 yards passing and 222 total yards on the day.
The Buck's defense was impressive, allowing one field goal and keeping the Boilermakers from getting inside the OSU 30 yard line until the final seconds of the game. But good defensive games don't impress the fans, and they don't impress the voters that are keeping Ohio State at #12.
So when will the Bucks move up in the rankings? Well, an impressive win next week against Michigan State would help, but the only way I see Ohio State moving up in the rankings much is with a big win over Penn State, a team that has no problems putting points on the board.
