Gators Lookin To Go 3 Out of 4 (And That Ain't Bad) posted on 07/07/2009

Alright people here we are, the 2009 college football season is upon us.  You've been reading the preseason mags all summer, the players, the coaches, the fans, they're all lickin their chops and anxiously awaiting that first kickoff, And what better way to start out the preseason speculation then with some BCS National Title talk.  The Florida Gators head into the 2009 season as the reigning national champs as well as the all around preseason #1 team(I've yet to pick up a mag or hit a website that disagrees).

First, let's get a little insight here. The Gators limped through their 07 campaign struggling to score and create offense and capped off the season with an embarrassing loss to Michigan for which I caught a lot of hazing by family members. I mean come on they were just coming off a championship season in 06 right.  So after 07 and finishing 9-4 the goal was for the Gators to improve and WOW did they ever. 2008 was magical, despite a small hiccup against Ole Miss (I think they rebounded ok, right?) The Gators picked off 26 passes(best in NCAA), were 4th in the nation in scoring D and 9th in total defense.  How's 2009 lookin??? Well that defense is BACK, that rediculous secondary from 08 as well as those headhunting LB's. That D Line that's got Ends that are quicker than some running backs. Yep they're all back and hungry as hell.  The leader of the defense is Brandon Spikes, the MLB passed up his likely first round draft pick in the NFL, and for good reason. He and he rest of the leaders on the team truely believe that this team is going to repeat.  Well it's obvious that the defense is stacked to the gills but what about the offense??
