'm finally planning it; I'm going to try to pull the trigger soon. If my hamstring and body can take it; a full marathon is on my radar. Green Bay, Wisconsin, aka Titletown, USA. Land of Lombardi, start of a Legend (Brett Favre) and home of brats, burgers, cheese and beer. I've done three half marathons (1 in Madison, 1 in Green Bay, and 1 in Appleton). I loved Madison because of the college memories but last year they had a lot of complaints because of the course and lack of porta potties (interestingly, a key thing on runs). Green Bay was awesome because it started and ended near Lambeau; the start was outside on a street and you finished by running out the player's tunnel and onto the field for 1 lap. If you think of all the things that have happened and all the people that have touched the field.. its a surreal feeling. I almost floated around the field, on top of the world. I guess it's part of the sreason it was my best run, huh?

Well, it's getting to be that time of the year where I'm about to turn up the heat for a full marathon in Green Bay, Wisconsin on May 16th (I think.. if that's a Sunday). Either way, business is about to pick up since I have my training picked out thanks to halhigdon.com! That's the same site I used for my half marathons, of course, now I get Runner's World magazine and I take workouts out of there from time to time and replace them with workouts that ol' Hal has me doing. It's a good mix, one that I've grown fond of and that's why I'm sticking with what works for my first full.
Onto a few of my training thoughts though. The first concern is naturally health; my knee has been hit or miss since this summer with some chondro menatia (spelling) and maybe tendinitis and who knows what else. I was supposed to have a PT look at it today, but I didn't have to go to work so I didn't see him. I'm waiting to hear back before I really decide to bust tail or how this training is going to go. Naturally, I did the next best thing today. Sit ups and push ups. Now, I've been trying to do these for years; never got consistent at them. I've made 13 New Year's Resolutions and a promise to myself every single morning that today will be the day I start doing them before and after school. Wrong. I've never managed to do them, still... but today, I had the day off and I ripped off 100 of each. It's not a big amount right now, and I'm not pretending that it is, but for somebody that is trying to get into a flow of doing them.. 100 of each before 4 is a big deal. The tricky part is doing another 100 before bed tonight and then gradually working my way up.
