T-Razzie Dazzie had a chance years back to field a monster line up, but for whatever reason.. he just can't keep his team healthy and focused. Sometimes, they're a tad soft.. sometimes a bit unlucky and at other times.. T-Raz can't put his foot down and control the locker room, apparently, they don't listen to him as well as his girlfriend does; he's having a hard time handling that. 8-6 was the record last year, but it was a disappointing season considering he had Sam Bradford and ended the season with Tim Tebow. Could this year.. finally be the year he puts it all together?
QB: Jacory "Pinball" Harris leads the squad.. I'm not calling him a armed robber or arsonist; I'm just saying he reminds me of Pinball Parker. That's a good thing, folks. He also has Russell Wilson, an underrated QB at NC State. T-Raz has solid players at the QB position where he can pick up 250+ yard games and a few TD's each week with the right start.
RB: Lots of bodies at RB led by "The First" Noel Devine, one of the most exciting RB's in college football. If WVU feeds him early and often he should put up 1500+ yards and at least 12 scores this season.. this guy is electric. Armando Allen is a teasing talent in ND as are Vic Anderson and Darrell Scott. Derrick "I'm no George" Washington just got himself arrested showing that T-Raz may not have that great of locker room control this season and is suspended for at least one game. Deleone Carter has talent in Syracuse but their offensive line hasn't blocked since Donovan McNabb was QB.. including Brian White's reign as OC.
WR: "C"Ryan Whalen figures to have a monster season in Stanford with Andrew Luck at the helm and Toby Gerhart finally in the NFL. He could be a 1000 yard receiver or at least a monster in the red zone. Jock Sanders is a tricky cover in the slot and makes big plays off play action passes for West Virginia. Kendall Wright is extremely underrated and a monster threat in Baylor's spread offense and Keith Smith caught about 2821 balls last year for Purdue. There probably isn't any monster weeks in this WR corps, but he should be able to scrounge about 30-40 points on a weekly basis if he hits the right match-ups.
TE: I'm not going to lie.. I don't know much about either of T-Raz's tight ends and I don't feel like googling them right now but one of them does feature 2 first names.. George Bryan and the other has a pretty funny last name, Josh Chichester. Bryan could team with Russell Wilson for some T-Raz double dipping into points. I'm not sure what to expect from Chichester other than to giggle if he ever starts.
K: Tress Way is T-Raz's kicker at press time, however, he is expected to drop him like a dirty shirt for a different kicker. Either way, this season he's expected to be one of the best punters in all of college football.
D/ST: A couple of very solid d's for T-Raz in Pitt and UNC. I was hoping UNC would slip through to the free agent market, so I could scoop them up but he was on top of his game and pounced on them during the draft. Butch Davis knows defense and talent and he's got both in the baby blue uniforms. We'll see how all this illegal activity plays out and if that does anything with the defense, but they are so deep and talented I doubt it affects them. Pitt will also be a good play since their schedule still hasn't figured out the goal on offense is to score.
Best Case: Pinball becomes the Heisman player the media thinks he is, Noel electric slides around the end zone and one of the other 24 running backs steps up. The receivers put up 40 ponits a week and one of the TE scores weekly. The defense will be there week in and week out for mega points.. if these things happen, Dowden will find himself in position to finish in the final 4.
Worse Case: Jacory gets beat like a drum like he did against Wisconsin. Nobody steps up opposite The First Noel and the WR's are just there. Don't forget, T-Raz also hasn't had control of his locker room since our league started and the school board is starting to get annoyed with his lack of leadership. Some say, he needs to get out of the college life.. his players are living it and he shouldn't be partying at their side. We don't think this has changed much as he spends more time downtown than his criminal 21 year old players. That's not a good sign for a team that could be in title contention.
Overall: Some of that worst case scenario plays out, mainly the locker room and leadership. Jacory is turnover prone still although somebody steps up with the First Noel and the WR's are solid. T-raz just doesn't have the maturity or the staff to bump him over the powers of the league as he settles for another 4th or 5th place in the league. Pressure will build and the hot seat gets a bit hotter.
