It's happened again; we're doing another season review and just in time.. a certain team that was once 1-9 and down in the dumps rattled off their 2nd straight win. No big deal.
Joe vs. Dowden
--These two middle ranked teams are neck and neck. T-Raz openly admits to not liking Joe, and since he's never even met him Honest Abe Lincoln's quote, "I don't like that man.. I think I'll have to get to know him better," must not have entered T-Raz's brain. Ever. He's a man of hatred, plain and simple. Sadly, for him, Tim Tebow's record setting day wasn't enough to put him over the top as Joe rode an Alabama defense to victory. Pretty pathetic for T-Raz considering the fact that Joe got 0 points from his QB. It looks like another sad season in T-Raz land; I guess he knows what it feels like to be a kid living in the ghetto with Christmas around the corner... he's down and out.
Josh vs. Bill
--Josh is turning into a tough, tough team with a little bit of depth. He was on hand to see Blaine Gabbert go for 27 points against Iowa State; I'm not sure I've ever seen so many screens in my life. That and swing passes were putting me to sleep up on the hill in Mizzou. Ryan Williams and John Clay found the end zone to help lift his team over Bill. Speaking of Bill, did you know that he was once a two time league champ that started off the season hot? Talk about a guy that's lost interest in the league.. he's got 2 things going for him right now in his life: work and work. Of course; those two things are more than Perrins has going for him.
Crass vs. Brian
--Wow. This HAS to be a league record 221-79. I'm sure it covers most points scored and largest margin of victory; Brian really stood no chance. That 79 spot wouldn't have won a game this week and barely any games this season. Crass, in fact, had a few different ways to beat Brian using two players. Masoli (45) and UNC's defense (48) would have beaten him. UNC's defense and Keith Tolston (33) would have beaten him. UNC's defense and Anthony Dixon (31) would have tied him. Masoli and Keith Tolston would have lost the game by 1 point. That's incredible; a true Tecmo Super Bowl performance by Crass.. it reminds me of when Crass and I used to sit around and play Madden and put LeShon Johnson at HB and go to town. 3000 yard seasons were the norm on the ol' toss left and sweep right. Brings back memories.
Cherns vs. Bauman
--Bottom of the league vs. top of the league. Two guys that talk more than they produce and think they are good at it. In what should have been a warm up to a potential championship, Cherns stumbled and stumbled hard losing 100-128. Bauman showed up in fine fashion with 7 guys going over 10 points including his coming on QB, Ryan Mallett. Cherns, meanwhile, went through the motions gathering 17 points out of 4 players on his way to a damaging loss. Did you hear that? Was that the sound of his season flushed down the toilet? Only time will tell, but with a beatdown to a scuffling Bauman, things cannot look good in ChernsLand. Of course, with his delusional psychosis (stole from Ace Ventura) he might be on top of the world; they have people to talk to in cases like this.
Chad vs. Perrins
-- CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA CHOOO CHOOO. That sound you hear is an impending train racing down the tracks, and you're standing on them. As Rube Baker once said, "You're a great ballplayer and all, but you're standing on the tracks when the train's coming through." Get out of the way Perrins, dispatched 115-107 by Chad. Sugar Shane went ballistic for 38 points, Jerrod Johnson added 29 and Thug U went for 13 to carry him over Perrins. Perrins had 4 guys over 20 points and still lost to a 2 star effort from Chad. Things are looking good for the Illinois/Ole Miss of the league; splat when it matters and pick it up at the end of the season. Expect some posterboard material this week as Cherns comes to town with a chance at the belt on the line and a BCS bowl game type atmosphere in Pleasant Plains, IL where tickets are flying off the scene.
