#3 Bill vs. #1 Josh Bill (123ppg) takes on Josh (137ppg) this week in a big time fantasy football match-up. Bill was left for dead this year after ripping off 2 league titles; half his roster graduated or went pro early and now he's parlayed a few spare parts into some young hosses that lead the charge for him. Jevan Snead takes over at QB after he dealt Tim Tebow to T-Raz. Bill picked up Ryan Broyles in the trade who gives him a lot of ammo at the WR position. A failed trade with Perrins and Bill have both of them reeling and Perrins crying in private emails around the league. Fortunately, those emails remain private so the league doesn't need to here his confessions. I'll bet it looks something like this. Anyway, Bill is off to a off start thanks to a flying and amped up South Carolina defense. Josh should get a big week from Blane Gabbert and he has a few backs capable of points in Nic Grigsby and John Clay.. as well as Ryan Williams. Smart money is on Josh this week, but you can't forget Bill just knows how to win. Spread: Josh -11.5
#6 Joe vs. #9 Bauman Joe puts up points. He's got Zac Robinson slinging it around. He's got Gilyard, Bryant and Briscoe at WR (and Michael Floyd who is out with an injury).. but man, does he have issues. He had to shelf LeGarrette "Smoke a" Blount because of his sucker punch back in week 1. After that, he doesn't have much in the backfield, but he might not need it with the way his WR's can pile on the points. Briscoe has started the season slow, but that's because he was suspended. I wonder if he threw any haymakers in the Kansas football vs. basketball Royal Rumble that's been going on? He's taking on "The Big One" self-proclaimed and not entirely accurate. The Big One has struggled against everybody in the league... except me. He dominates me, like his big ol' dog used to do to him. I saw it on video once.. and it wasn't pretty. If you don't know about it, float him an email or maybe ask his mom to burn it onto a DVD for you. It's worth you buying the DVD, paying her for her services, AND paying for shipping and handling. It is that good. Anyway, The Big One will be looking at Ryan Mallett, Roy Helu, and Jacoby Ford to carry his team. I'm not seeing it.. not this weekend. Joe is Bruno (the dog) and The Big One is.. well, The Big One when he was a little kid. Joe goes to town this week. Spread: Joe -24.5
#4 Crass vs. #5 T-Raz: Crass picked up Tony Pike early in the year to replace his horrible QB's and Pike has caught on well.. no pun intended. He's led, however, by that Jahvid "The Jet" guy. Rumor has it, he can run. He's got some other character that ride the gravy train: Mr. McKnight and Tim Brown.. no, not THAT Tim Brown. Instead, it's just some stiff from Rutgers. Dowden counters with one of his trio of QB's which will probably be Tim Tebow this week. He's got Anthony Allen and Jon Dwyer as well as "The First" Noel Devine in the backfield. At WR he can does "Two Rocks in my" Jock Sanders and Travis "It's All about the" Benjamin('s). Crass is on a row and T-Raz appears a tad overconfident. I don't know why; the guy hasn't done much in the league to be carrying the clout he thinks he has. Crass took some lumps last year, but now he's finding out how to win. He could be scary throughout the year. Spread: Crass -10.5
#7 Cherns vs. #8 Brian Cherns talked big before the season started, basically guranteeing a championship. Just full of talk, he's one of those guys that is able to talk all day long and never say anything. A unique talent, a spreadsheet guru. Other than that, he doesn't bring much to the league. He's got the league's #1 scorer right now in, Taylor Potts. As far as the rest of the squad goes, he's young at RB with LaMichael James, Bryce Brown, and Daniel Thomas making starts this week. Eric Decker and Golden Tate look to provide some offense on the corners, and he has the ever reliable Florida defense. I still think Jake makes noise this season. Brian counters with turf toe Jimmy Clausen and the Rodgers brothers out in Oregon State. That's about it, he likes AJ Green as well, but not many else in the league do. Okay, I lied, AJ Green is good. But really, outside of that Brian is a few points or a Clausen injury from being under 100 points a game. Cherns rolls this week. Spread: Cherns -24.5
#2 Perrins vs. #10 Cloughs In what appears to be a lopsided affair on paper, Perrins is taking on dead last in points and wins Cloughs. Cloughs has managed to score the least amount of points, every single week. A feat, that might never be matched to open a season. He's already off to a hot start as TE Weslye Saunders managed 1 catch for 3 yards.. good for... 0 points, currently his season average. Sweet. Perrins can trot out points all over the field: Reesing at QB, Ralph Bolden at RB, Blair White, Garrett Graham, Ohio State's defense can all hit for big points in a week. Chad will counter with his senior QB Colt McCoy against UTEP or super soph Robert Griffin vs. Northwestern State. Ben Tate, Richard Samuel, and Chris Polk might get some touches at RB. Danario Alexander and Kerry Meier are senior leaders at WR. The kickers rarely score, the defense rarely gets stops and hyped receivers Regis Benn and Julio Jones are as productive as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Spread: Perrins -39
