"Gator Meat is on the Menu!"

Ok Dawg fans lets look over the LSU game. I have to say that my predictions have been right on and I couldn’t be happier. Knowshon had another game for over 160 yards rushing. A.J. Green had a great game along with Matthew Stafford. Stafford got the player of the game completing 17 of 26 passes for 249 yards with 3 touchdowns 2 from the air 1 on the ground. Moreno broke out two huge runs one for 46 yards and the other for 68. This was truly the game we have been waiting for all year. LSU is no joke by any means and we went out there and ripped them limb from limb. We probably faced the toughest running back (Charles Scott) coming out of the LSU backfield. This guy was a full grown man carrying the ball and laying hits. Don’t get me wrong this guy is no Knowshon Moreno however he was a great back with power and speed. Derryl Gamble came away with two interceptions in the game taking both back to the house for a touchdown. Reshad Jones also came away with a pick. I believe that some of the best play though was from the guys you don’t even think about. The offensive line looked great against a very tough LSU defensive. They were giving Stafford time to throw and Moreno holes to run through. It was a great game and we need to carry that momentum into the Florida game because this is the toughest part of our year.

Ok dawg fans it’s game day. We got some things to cover so lets get to it. Last week Georgia rolled past vandy in a 24 to 14 victory. Again the Dawgs struggled in the red zone putting points on the board. Freshman kicker Blair Walsh missed a couple gimme field goals but put one through the uprights to seal a 10-point lead late in the 4th. Knowshon had a great day with a career high of 176 yards. You didn’t see any blow out runs down the sideline but the thing about Knowshon is that he is making great runs even if its only for a 2 or 4 yard gain. Sometimes he should be stuffed in the backfield for a loss and he breaks a tackle or spins away and carries it up for a positive gain. As I predicted A.J. Green had another big day exceeding the century mark in receiving yards for the second time this year. A.J. a true freshman leads the sec in receiving yards. This guy is a great weapon lets continue to inflict pain with him.

Ok Dawg fans its time for some Vandy action. Sorry this post is a little late but lets get down to the game. The bulldogs are set to kick off at 12:30 est. in Athens. Dawgs look to dominate this matchup but one thing is for sure. We need to find pay dirt when we get inside the red zone. Last week we struggled inside the 30-yard line. News reports say that Vandy will be starting Mackenzie Adams, which is their 2nd string quarterback against the #10 ranked Dawgs. Although this may sound good to the untrained ear u might not remember Adams a 6 foot 3 inches redshirt junior led the Commodores to a 24-22 victory over UGA in 2006. And in 2007 if it were not for some last minute heroics by the Dawgs causing a fumble in the end zone which would have been a 6 point nail in the Dawgs coffin Adams would have beat us is 07. So Adams comes into the game 1 and 1 against the Dawgs. The commodores head coach bobby Johnson has made this decision following dandy’s first loss of he year last week when they fell to the Ole Miss rebels. Johnson said that he wasn’t happy with Vandy's offensive production this year. Rightfully so because Vandy's passing offense is ranked 116th out of 119 bowl subdivision teams. Vandy has gotten by this year mostly through their defense that has been one of the best in the sec in turnovers. I personally would have preferred the regular starter Chris Nickson to get the nod to start at Georgia rather than Adams. These guys are two different types of quarterbacks Nickson threat comes from his legs being the commodores 2nd leading rusher. Where as Adams is a pocket passer and if you give him time he will find some holes.

“One real Dawg in the SEC”

HEY DAWG FANS! Saturday October 11th at 3:30pm the Georgia Bulldogs let the Tennessee Vols know that it’s only pleasant between the hedges if you’re a real dog! Although the final score of UGA 26 UT 14 does not really show Georgia’s dominance throughout the game. Georgia controlled the game through the four quarters. Tennessee’s tough defense held them close to in the game coming away with 2 interceptions. Matthew Stafford who came in to this game very efficient only turning the ball over once, threw two picks however not completely his fault. One was just a good read by the defense that saw the screen in the flats coming a mile away and once Stafford made a quick fake to one side and threw to the opposite the defense was waiting on him. The second pick came from a miscommunication with the receiver who should have been running a different route, which would have been an easy 6 points.

"Vols heading towards a beat down between the Hedges!"

Ok Dawg FANS ! Georgia vs. Tennessee week ! Saturday October 11, 2008 at 3:30 est. the Georgia Bulldogs (4-1) face off against the Tennessee Vols (2-3).

Although Tennessee’s record may look bad let me be the first to tell you it’s deceiving. This is a threatening team. In case no one remembers the disaster of a game last year in which we lost to the Vols, which arguably cost us a national championship. Every game is important; we can’t look past a game just because a team is 2 and 3. These are the type of games that will hurt us more than any. Another SEC loss this season is going to kill us. We learned the hard way last week that momentum can get away from you very quickly. We have the talent to compete and if we play a whole 4 quarters like we did in the second half of the Bama game, no team in the country would be able to stop us.

                                                 “ Do you KNOW-SHON?”

Georgia’s redshirt sophomore running back is quite arguably the tailback with the most expectations since Hershel Walker. Knowshon Moreno is only in his third year at the University of Georgia. While redshirting his freshman year, Moreno came off as cocky to his teammates due to his energetic style of play. You have seen this style of play. When Knowshon runs hard like he usually does and immediately jumps on his feet to sprints back to the huddle. His teammates perceived this as cockiness at first but soon found out that Moreno was doing what he does and trying to make everyone around him better. This 5 foot 7 inches 207 lbs. star out for Georgia football comes from West Keansburg, New Jersey. He attended Middletown High School South and led them to three state championships. As a senior he rushed for over 1800 yards and 43 touchdowns in just 10 games. He finished second in all time New Jersey high school ranks finishing his high school career with 6268 career rushing yards and 128 touchdowns.

                                “Black out or Concussion?”

Black out or concussion? You decide but regardless it was a sad day in the bulldog nation when Bama went up 31 to 0 during the first half. We just seemed to lose our energy real fast and in a hurry. I believe the turning point was during the first drive. Alabama was driving down the field and we are thinking…. Damn those boys on their O-Line are huge. Then we get some pressure around the left end John Parker Wilson (Bama QB) throws and completes a pass to his halfback, who turns and takes it up field. Our defense lays a good lick on him and the ball comes loose…. GEORGIA BALL ! Wait a minute flag down on the play. Apparently while getting pressure on the QB our defensive end jumps in the air in attempt to tackle the QB while coming down his hand grazes and I mean grazes the QB’s helmet. Roughing the passer is the call… Bama Ball first down. What has our football come to when we stress such a rule. I can understand late hits and trying to knock the QB’s head off his shoulders for that penalty. But we did not obstruct or hinder the QB or his pass. They completed a good pass and then we knocked the piss out of him fair and square. So shortly after the penalty Bama scores. Momentum is the key and we lost it.

                                                                    “Black Out BAMA !”

Hey dawg fans! Let's talk a little about the upcoming Georgia vs. Alabama game. The dawgs are looking to be a 7 point favorite in this matchup, however don’t think that this will be a walk in the park. Bama has a great looking top 10 team this year. With outstanding play from John Park Wilson (QB) Bama has been looking good so far this year. Last week they beat up on Arkansas, winning the game 49 to 14. Though you hear espn talking Alabama’s offense up, that game was taken over by the Bama defense. I will tell you one thing they will have a different animal on their hands coming into Athens. Matthew Stafford is making a push to be in the Heisman race. He has already thrown for 5 touchdowns and 919 yards. He has yet to turn the ball over with an interception. And maybe just maybe you’ve heard of this human highlight reel we have in the backfield Knowshon Moreno. This kid is everything a Georgia fan has been dreaming about since the great Hershel Walker graced the field between the hedges. Knowshon has already put up 9 touchdowns in 4 games and look for him to add to it by driving over and hurdling everyone in his Heisman path.
